Budapest Good
Well I won my first corespondence game using the Budapest... right now I am 1-0-0 with the budapest with one game still running... that is unclear. I am about to win my first corespondence tourney... Top 2 scored 5.5 out of 8 and I have score 5/5 so far with 3 games left and a in one I have a 2Rooks and 5 pawns vs 1 Rook and 5 pawn ending where one of my pawns is an outside passed pawn. I can cut off his king and I will queen before he can.
My blitz chess has suffered as corespondence chess has deteriorated my opening knowledge as I don't practice openings enough... I pretty much lost all my knowledge of every opening beyond move 5... I need to brush up on my: Italian; French; and Philador. I am winging it against the Sicilian and have been doing ok... yesterday I dropped two pawns early but managed a decisive attack as my oponent wasted too much time nabbing pawns...
Darts... I changed the way I through to get rid of the wiggle in my dart... and know I cant hit anything... my dart flies perfect... just never where I want it. I analyzed my old way of throwing vs my new way and found that my old way had many faults but the good thing was I could recreate my aiming arm position and release point consistently... allowing for the minor adjustments needed to hit at least 2/3 in cricket... So... I am trying to meld the two... take my old aiming and release point and put them together with the new grip, finger stability (instead of my old retract and flick), and stable elbow (I was bringing the dart in a straight line back to my eye and then back to the target, now I am moving the dart in a sort of parabola). My initial practice with it was ok... I need to practice it more so I become more consistent... the key is the consistent release point... with the modifications to make the dart fly straight (not wiggle)... I believe I will regain my old accuracy plus greater ability to hit more than one tripple in a turn... before when I was on it was difficult to hit a tight grouping because my dart was flapping left and right... the middle of the dart would often hit the flight of the other one bouncing it out of tripple land...
Poker...
In past 2 weeks...
Real money 16 guy tourney finished 3rd... was chip leader and knocked out 5 guys myself... was KQ vs K 7... He had about 2/3 of my stack... I called his all in preflop he was wild... flop came
2Q7 turn K... guess the river... yup 7... I then was in trouble as I only had about 10 blinds left...

Playing well... I pretty sure I am a better limit player than no limit... I know when to fold but I think I give away to much bluffing in no limit... In limit you just can't bluff that often... and when you can it is often a profitable play especially at a passive table where you are not that likely to be raised...
Anyways... What am I going to play tonight? Darts, poker, or chess?
