New Darts
I got some new stuff. I got Unicorn XL Shafts... I got some more pair shaped flights... and new darts... Unicorn World Champion Bob Anderson 24 gram 90% tungsten! I just really like the way they looked. I never threw them and just ordered them. I never did that before but I figured they looked so cool I just wanted them in my collection. I like them way better than my current set. The grip is awesome! No slipage... and I will not have to be licking my figers to grip these darts. And I am conviced that 23-24 is the correct weight for me. My old darts at 20 grams were nice (because they are narrow) but I lack the feel I wanted. I just stuggle with the release point. I threw for just a few minutes with the new darts and I was grouping and stacking darts... and hit a hat trick... 123... I really like them... They are ballanced darts. The gifter got them from A-Z darts...
The shafts that come with it are slick sticks.. .the aluminum base ones... They were bent and the flights misshaped. The reason was the case the darts come in... A great idea. The darts sit in a little cirular piece (the tips of the darts) that swivels out. There is a nice compartment for extra flights like the flight mate. It also has room for extra shafts. The problem is that when you close the cover it contacts the flights and compresses them just a bit. My impression of the slick sticks is that they look like more work that they are worth. The case... ? I'll keep an eye out for somebody that uses slim flights or mini's and give it to them...
As for the Unicorn XL nylon shafts. I like them BUT... the flights pop off 1/15 times they hit the board... and one is already bent or came that way (leaning towards came that way). I had a direct hit to the end of one of the shafts because the flight popped off... and it caused minimal damage. The shaft is still usable with no deficiency in arodynamics... I can't see hitting it with the flight still in there... I don't mind when flights pop off when the slide past another flight and the get flicked off... but just hitting the board??? that I don't like.
I really think these shafts will be very durable... Who knows I may just order some standard 2ba's...

Rubik's fun and last league nite
Ok I hit 2 hat tricks at league... one was a 4 count... and the other just a 3...Before league I hit a 140.
I missed my doubles... didn't play bad considering I took some time off from practice because my elbow is popping again. Need to drug up on anti-inflamatories like 2 hours before league...
as for Rubik's cube I timed myself today and here are my times:

as for Rubik's cube I timed myself today and here are my times:
- 2:26 No mistakes... and skipped a step by luck
- 4:09 1 big mistake sent me back to solving first layer
- 3:33 1 small mistake... had to fix 2nd layer
- 2:18 No mistakes and no skipped steps I was just flying

Rubik's Cube 25 Years!
Ok everybody my age had one when they were a kid. I figured out how to solve one side as a kid... and never got any farther than than... Well Ryan had one at work the other day and from a little pamphlet was able to solve it. I worked on it tonight and I am able to do it. I did it about 15 times tonight... the whole thing can be done in 7 steps...
I got everything memorized except step 6... that one is tough...
- create the green cross... order of sides is important... green on top... white (silver), Orange, Yellow, Red. You will know you have the side colors out of order in the next step
- Solve the green corners... if you get a green corner done and the green is on the right side but the two colors are flip-flopped then you have the sides out of order... see step 1.... This is pretty easy step. get each square to the correct corner.. don't worry if the square is not oriented correctly. if it is messed up use the (Ri Di R D) Pattern to fix it.
- Rotate the middle square to the correct sides... then solve the middle layer... With the blue side up you will swap the middle top with the one facing you... for the one one the left... .(U F Ui Fi Ui LI U L) The booklet has you hold the thing to the side and use (U R ui Ri Ui Fi U F) But why just do the opposite for the other side... ( Ui Fi U F U R Ui Ri )
- Ok now get the blue cross. Basically you need to put one blue one in the middle facing you then use ( F R U Ri Ui Fi )... FRURiUifi ("FrewRoof")... This one you need to see the diagram to understand...
- Get the edges lined up... basically solve the red/yellow then the silver/red. using ( R U Ri U R U U Ri U
- Now move the corners to the correct place. Use the pattern until you get one in the correct corner then put the good one on your right thumb... This is a tough pattern (U R Ui Li U Ri Ui L) continue until all are in the correct places
- This one is a bit hard to understand in print... esay pattern (Ri Di R D)... do this to rotate a corner to the proper orientation (2 or 4 times). Once one is lined up (don't forget to do the final D... ) rotate the top and get another corner... don't worry if the rest of the cube gets messed up... it will come back around ....
I got everything memorized except step 6... that one is tough...

Broken toe 140
I broke the little toe on my right foot and it is making throwing difficult.
I hit a 140 in our killer game at league. Perhaps the first time this year I hit 140. I know I have hit 123 (T20, T20, T3) before but this was my first 140 in league...
oh in a game of bob's 29 before league I got to 18... it was a confidence booster as I was throwing like garbage while fighting my broken toe before that...

100 20's
Ok I started trying to throw 100 at the 20's. I mostly hit in the 70's but I have a high of 90 & 95... the 95 was with 13 trips... 90 was with 8...
I will clear 100 but I am just throwing weird. I am having a hard time not throwing trip 1's. Hmm...

Bull crazy
Ok I am all over the bulls lately. I was playing Ryan and came back to win a game by going to bulls early (with 15's and 16's still open). I told him I didn't have the guts to do it in a league game because I didn't know if my partner would be able to hit as well. (we play all team and doubles games... doh)... he said to go for it... if you are down at that point anyways...
So the opportunity presented itself and I hit 6 (or seven?) bulls and my partnet popped one. On my final turn our opponent hit a couple 15's to put them up low 30's... So I have to hit two bulls and 3 15's to win... first dart flyer... whoops... concentrate!... Double bull... trip 15... game over. And the crowd goes crazy!!!! :-) After league... I almost threw another deadeye... hit 5 bulls... 3rd dart bounced off the first two and out of the double...
