Rubik's Cube 25 Years!

Ok everybody my age had one when they were a kid. I figured out how to solve one side as a kid... and never got any farther than than... Well Ryan had one at work the other day and from a little pamphlet was able to solve it. I worked on it tonight and I am able to do it. I did it about 15 times tonight... the whole thing can be done in 7 steps...

  1. create the green cross... order of sides is important... green on top... white (silver), Orange, Yellow, Red. You will know you have the side colors out of order in the next step
  2. Solve the green corners... if you get a green corner done and the green is on the right side but the two colors are flip-flopped then you have the sides out of order... see step 1.... This is pretty easy step. get each square to the correct corner.. don't worry if the square is not oriented correctly. if it is messed up use the (Ri Di R D) Pattern to fix it.
  3. Rotate the middle square to the correct sides... then solve the middle layer... With the blue side up you will swap the middle top with the one facing you... for the one one the left... .(U F Ui Fi Ui LI U L) The booklet has you hold the thing to the side and use (U R ui Ri Ui Fi U F) But why just do the opposite for the other side... ( Ui Fi U F U R Ui Ri )
  4. Ok now get the blue cross. Basically you need to put one blue one in the middle facing you then use ( F R U Ri Ui Fi )... FRURiUifi ("FrewRoof")... This one you need to see the diagram to understand...
  5. Get the edges lined up... basically solve the red/yellow then the silver/red. using ( R U Ri U R U U Ri U
  6. Now move the corners to the correct place. Use the pattern until you get one in the correct corner then put the good one on your right thumb... This is a tough pattern (U R Ui Li U Ri Ui L) continue until all are in the correct places
  7. This one is a bit hard to understand in print... esay pattern (Ri Di R D)... do this to rotate a corner to the proper orientation (2 or 4 times). Once one is lined up (don't forget to do the final D... ) rotate the top and get another corner... don't worry if the rest of the cube gets messed up... it will come back around ....

I got everything memorized except step 6... that one is tough...
